We had a busy week! Students received their unit 6 math tests back today. The majority of students did quite well. They should make corrections and return the tests to me. Next week appears to be pretty routine. Here are the important details:

• Monday - We have Cybrary.
• Tuesday - Students have Music.
• Wednesday - Students have Phy Ed.
• Thursday- Students will be taking their spelling test and weekly reading assessment. They have Music for specialist. Report cards will be sent home.
• Friday - We are skiing at Trollhaugen. All students need to arrive at school between 7:30 and 7:45. Reminder information was sent home today.

Today is the first day of the second semester. Everyone has a fresh start with their grades. Set a goal for this semester. What would you like to accomplish or achieve? Is there something you can do better? Here is a preview of this week:

• Tuesday - We have Music for specialist and a ski presentation from a Trollhaugen employee.
• Wednesday - Student have Phy Ed. They will take their spelling test and weekly assessment.
• Thursday - They have Music. We will take our Unit 6 math test. It includes data analysis and the addition and subtraction of fractions.
• Friday - Students have Phy Ed.

I hope you had a nice Martin Luther King Day. Here is a snapshot of this week:

• Tuesday - We had Phy Ed today, were introduced to a Black History Month research project, and began dissecting owl pellets.
• Wednesday - Students have Music and AIMSweb benchmarking. We will begin taking notes for our research and continue with owl pellets.
• Thursday - Students have Phy Ed.
• Friday - Students have Cybrary. We will head into the computer lab and take more notes for our research project.

We have a full week this week. Here is a preview of events:

• Monday - We have Phy Ed for specialist.
• Tuesday - Students have a 2-hour late start today. They'll take their spelling test and weekly reading assessment.
• Wednesday - Phy Ed is the day's specialist.
• Thursday - Students have Cybrary. The Paper Bag Book Report Contract and Planning Sheet is due today. Projects are due the last week of February.
• Friday - Students have Music.

On another note, we have a science test coming up. It will either be the end of this week (Thursday) or next week. I will let students know two days ahead so they may be prepared. They may use their vocab cards and foldables from chapter 6 to study as well as use them on the test. Please see last Friday's newsletter for more detailed happenings and news.

We have one more week before winter break starts. Here is what you can expect:

• Monday - Students have Music for specialist. We will begin reviewing for our math test.
• Tuesday - Students have Phy Ed for specialist. They will take the weekly reading assessment and spelling test.
• Wednesday- We will take the unit 5 math test and go to Cybrary.
• Thursday - Students have Music.
• Friday - We have Phy Ed. Our class will be watching the movie Home Alone in the afternoon and attending a sing-along. They may bring in a treat for the movie if they wish.

• Thursday - Reward Day - We earned a pajama day with rootbeer floats and a half hour of gym time. When choosing pajamas, keep in mind that it is winter and you will be going out for recess.We have Music.
• Friday - It is a 2 hour late start day.

Other items to note: We are still in need of more clean soup or vegetable cans. Students recieved a December reading calendar and should be reading. Ski trip permission slips are due on December 16th.

I hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving! We have a pretty routine week scheduled. Here is what you need to know:

Monday - We have Music. Permission slips for Trollhaugen are being sent out today. They are due back by December 16th.

Tuesday - We have Phy Ed for specialist.

Wednesday - It is a Cybrary day. We also have our first session with Mrs. Roman, our school's Artist in Residence.

Thursday - We have Music. November Reading Calendars are due today.

Friday - We have Phy Ed. Students will be taking the weekly reading assessment and spelling test. 

We have a short week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Here are a couple of items to note:

• Monday - We have Cybrary for specialist.
• Tuesday - We are reviewing for our unit 4 math test. We have Music for specialist.
• Wednesday - Students will take the unit 4 math test on division. There are 4 main skills assessed: estimation, division, using map scales to find distances, and solving problems with variables. Students may use their preferred method for solving division problems as long as they show their work. Phy Ed is the specialist of the day. In the afternoon we will be watching Remember the Titans with Mr. Benson's class. The movie deals with prejudice and inequality.

We will also be wrapping up our persuassive essays this week by reviewing the rubric and writing a final draft.

We are approaching the end of our short week. There is no school for students tomorrow. Here is a preview of next week.

Monday - Students have Cybrary. We will be visiting the Book Fair as a class during this time.

Tuesday- Students have Music for specialist.

Wednesday - We have Phy Ed. Students will take the math MAP test.

Thursday - The specialist for today is Music. Students will take the weekly assessment and spelling test. We will also have a science test. Students may use their vocab cards and other resources for this test, but it will still be helpful to study.

Friday - We have Phy Ed.
